National Agencies and Programs

U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)
The primary federal agency related to food and agriculture issues. Includes a wide range of agencies and services.

Health and Human Services (HHS)
The Department of Health and Human Services is the United States government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves. The Department includes more than 300 programs, covering a wide spectrum of activities.

Food and Drug Administration
The National Food and Drug Administration if responsible for monitoring and promulgating regulations related to food safety (except for animal products, which is done through USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service), dietary supplements, etc.
